Quinte West OPP – Person Charged in Theft of Vessel Investigation

The Quinte West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged an individual with theft.

On September 27, 2023, at approximately 11:00 p.m., officers responded to the Trent Severn Waterway, Trenton for a report of a suspicious person, drifting towards shore in a boat. The individual failed to identify himself to officers. An investigation led to a person being arrested.

James PATRICK, 37 years old from Trenton, has been ch arged with the following offences:

  • Theft of motor vehicle (Vessel)
  • Fail to comply with probation order – Three counts
  • Obstruct peace officer

The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville.
