Cobourg Police – Cobourg Man Charged with Theft of Vehicle, Failure to Comply (Name Released)

On Wednesday, July 19th, 2023, a suspect attended a car dealership located on Division Street, in the Town of Cobourg and drove off in a vehicle that was parked in the lot.

Through investigation and video surveillance footage, police identified the suspect.

On August 24th, 2023, 28-year-old Bryson DAM of Cobourg was arrested and charged with the following offences:

1. Theft of Motor Vehicle – Contrary to Section 333.1(1) of the Criminal Code

2. Failure to Comply with Probation Order – Contrary to Section 733.1(1) of the Criminal Code

3. Failure to Comply with Undertaking – Contrary to Section 145(4)(a) of the Criminal Code

The accused was held in custody for a bail hearing.
