In Local, Weather

Victoria Beach in Cobourg was the busiest it’s been this summer for people flocking to enjoy the sun, sand and Lake Ontario.

With thousand of people there are the regular items of frustration that may happen to visitors are, the $160.00 parking tickets, drinking alcohol and smoking in the parks and on the beach, life guard stands, but not life guards.  Some of the dangerous activities are launching inflatable watercraft or stand-up paddleboards and not having the proper personal floatation devices.

It’s critical and it could save your life in a time of emergency.

At least one child got separated from their family on Saturday, July 22, 2023, but Cobourg Police Special Constables, and Auxiliary waded through the throngs of people looking for the child’s parents.

All the while, a Cobourg Police officer got to know the child better by carrying him on her back.
