Quinte West OPP – Driver Charged Following Pursuit

The Quinte West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a person with dangerous driving and flight from police.

On July 10, 2023, at approximately 9:30 a.m., an officer was patrolling Highway 37 in Centre Hastings, when a motorcycle was observed travelling more than two times the legal limit. The rider failed to stop for Centre Hastings as well as Quinte West OPP officers and fled the area at a very high rate of speed. Officer s discontinued their pursuit but quickly located the motorbike at the side of the road, having mechanical issues.

Noah MICHELIN, 24 years old, from Woodbridge has been charged with the following offences:

  • Dangerous operation of a motor vehicle – Criminal Code (CC)
  • Flight from peace officer – CC
  • Drive motor vehicle – Perform stunt – Excessive speed – Highway Traffic Act (HTA)

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville on August 10, 2023.
