City of Kawartha Lakes OPP – Traffic Complaint Leads to Impaired Driving Charge (Name Released)

 Members of the City of Kawartha Lakes Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) investigated a report of an impaired driver in Kirkfield.

On July 08, 2023 at approximately 3:40 pm, officers responded to a report of a suspected impaired driver westbound on Portage Road called in by a witness to driving behaviour. The driver of the motor vehicle was arrested and charged for alcohol related offences.

Samuel Conners, 19 years of age of Kirkfield has been charged with

  • Operation while Impaired – alcohol and drugs
  • Operation while Impaired – blood alcohol concentration over 80.

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Lindsay at a later date.

If you plan on consuming drugs or alcohol please arrange a safe ride home. If you suspect someone to be operating a motor vehicle while impaired please call 9-1-1.
