The Cobourg Scottish Festival and Highland Games kicked off on Friday, June 16, 2023 with a Military Tattoo and Stones of Strength in Victoria Park.

The Military Tattoo featured the Concert Band of Cobourg, Cobourg Legion Pipes and Drums, 8 Wing Trent Pipes and Drugs, Air Force City Pipes and Drums, Highland Creek Pipe Band, Almonte Legion Pipes and Drums, 2nd CMBG Pipes and Drums, Donegal Fiddlers Orchestra, Breck School of Highland Dance and Lindsay Rose Dance Company.

In front of the bandshell, the men’s and women’s Stones of Strength competition took place.

Devon Hepburn Roseneath won the competition and set a world record in the Dinnie Stone Walk carrying two stones weighing 585 pounds a total distance of 52 feet six inches beating the previous record of 20 feet four inches.
