Council to review feedback captured through Community Engagement
The Town of Cobourg Legislative Services Department would like to invite all members of the public to attend a Public Meeting regarding the Governance Review on Monday, June 19, 2023.

In April, the Town of Cobourg initiated a review of its governance by-laws and policies. As an initial step, Council sought community input regarding what is currently working well and where improvements could be made, particularly on transparency, accountability and how residents are able to participate in municipal decision making. A survey was launched on the Town of Cobourg’s community engagement portal, EngageCobourg.ca and ran from April 25 to May 29. The Town’s Municipal Clerk also hosted an Open House on May 17 to speak with members of the public and address any questions or concerns residents had.

At the Monday, June 19 Public Meeting, Council will review all comments submitted through the Community Engagement process, including those received at the Open House. Council
will then provide staff and the Governance Review Working Group with direction to continue with the next steps of the Governance Review process.

The goal of the governance review and any proposed amendments is to update the current Procedural by-law and other governance related policies and by-laws to streamline processes
and improve the efficiency of the business of Town Council and its Committees and Boards.

Attend the Public Meeting:

Monday, June 19, 2023

5:00pm

Council Chambers, Victoria Hall

For those who are unable to attend in person, the meeting will also be streamed live via the Town of Cobourg eScribe website. A recording will be made available for later viewing.
