SkyHawks Perform First Show of Season in Trenton

The Canadian Armed Forces parachute tea, The SkyHawks performed a parachuting demonstration in Centennial Park on Saturday, May 13, 2023.

Hundreds of people came to watch the team perform their first show of the season on a beautiful, but a tad windy afternoon.

During one manoeuvre, it appeared team members because tangled due to strong winds, but quickly cleared and finished the carefully planned drop.

SkyHawks member, Master Cpl. Tyler Owens said there is a thorough selection process for anyone wanting to be a member of the team.

“It’s a high demand job.”

The SkyHawks will be performing approximately 30 shows across Canada during their season.

Master Cpl. Owens said it’s not only a thrill for the spectators, but members of the team love what they do.

“It’s very thrilling. They’ll all have smiles on their faces, they’ll all be high-fiving. It’s action packed for sure.”
