Cobourg Police – Cobourg Man Charged with Two Counts with Theft, Two Counts Possession of Property Obtained by Crime (No Name Released)

A 19-year-old Cobourg man is facing theft charges after police are called to a local business.

On Sunday, April 30, 2023, at 1:00 p.m., police were called to a business Spring Street business for a theft in progress. The caller advised police that an individual left the store with merchandise, making no attempt to pay. Police located the individual, and he was subsequently arrested for theft.

Further investigation revealed that the man was linked to a previous theft.

As a result, a 19-year-old Cobourg man was arrested and charged with the following offences:

1. Two counts of Theft Under $5,000 contrary to section 334(b) Criminal Code of Canada (CCC)

2. Two counts of Possession of Property Obtained by Crime contrary to section 355(b) CCC

The accused was released on an undertaking with a future court date on June 14, 2023.
