You could be on the red carpet with a stunning array of celebrities Saturday night at the Capitol Theatre’s Red Carpet Gala celebration.

It’s their way of rolling out the 2023 season at the elegant Port Hope venue, and tickets are going fast for a night of glitz and glamour.

The on-stage entertainment will include comedian Sean Cullen, as well as the Celtic harmonies of Melissa Payne and the due of Natalie MacMaster and Donnell Leahy.

Even the host is something of a star – Layne the Auctionista, who is a leader in the wave of philanthropy-based entertainment. And of course, he will display his own special skills with a live auction.

And there’s also the chance to win the big 50-50 jackpot draw, where the jackpot was last reported to be closing in on $20,000.

This event is a smashing conclusion to an entire week of fun events around Port Hope to celebrate the shows you can look forward to.

Tuesday’s Greek Getaway at Olympus Burger celebrates Shirley Valentine (which starts May 12).

Wednesday’s A Good Ol’ Hockey Game road-hockey event at the Ganaraska Brewing Company is in honour of The Ballad of Stompin’ Tom (beginning June 9).

Thursday’s Medical Mayhem improv-comedy night at the Ganaraska Hotel promotes Prairie Nurse (debuting July 14).

Friday’s A Hungry Garden Party at the Beamish House anticipates Little Shop of Horrors (opening Aug. 11) with a dinner and an outdoor showing of the original film version.

And on Saturday, dress in your best and come to get your picture taken on the red carpet, share some bubbly and explore some of the newly renovated backstage locations at the Capitol as they anticipate the season ahead.
