The Port Hope Panthers have won the Provincial Junior Hockey League’s Tod Division with a 4-2 victory over the Picton Pirates in Game 5 Thursday night in Picton.
Cole Kimble scored twice while Clayton Farrow and Josh Sainthill added single tallies for Port Hope, which trailed 1-0 early, but led 3-2 after the first period and by the final two-goal margin through two frames.
Cole Stevenson and Carter McKee scored for Picton.
After winning the best-of-seven series 4-1, the Panthers now advance to face the Clarington Eagles, winner of the Orr Division, in the Eastern Conference final.
Port Hope or Clarington will join the PJHL’s other three conference champions in the Schmalz Cup tournament in Woodstock in May.
