Northumberland Hills Hospital continues to exercise utmost caution towards COVID-19, according to details shared with the board of directors at their October meeting.

The hospital’s Occupational Health and Safety office is offering booster clinics for staff, physicians and midwives are one example of the precautions in place, as is the universal-masking policy that requires masks to be worn properly at all times in all areas – except when eating of drinking in the Main Street Bistro.

The Senior Leadership Report also said that the COVID-19 Clinical Assessment Centre will continue to operate in the trailer stationed outside the hospital’s emergency department.

With on-going support from a multi-disciplinary team that includes NHH staff and health professionals from the Ontario Health Team-Northumberland (as well as Northumberland County paramedics), such services as COVID-19 assessment and testing are available. Also, as appropriate) anti-viral medication support can be offered.

Area residents are reminded to please call ahead (1-905-377-7783 or toll-free 1-833-678-2435) for a phone-based assessment and pre-scheduled appointment, as walk-in appointments are not currently available.
