NHH Foundation Raises $25,000 with Wine & Ale

In Community, Local

Happily welcoming back their annual Wine & Ale summertime fundraiser for the first time since 2019, Northumberland Hills Hospital Foundation announces that the June 29 event was the most successful to date – raising more than $25,000 for the hospital.

Foundation Community Engagement and Events Specialist Megan Fluxgold said much of the credit for this success goes to the community.

“We want to thank all those who attended and supported our hospital – from guests to our many volunteers, delectable vendors and partners, the Lions Club of Cobourg and, of course, our presenting sponsor for the past six years, Tony Pulla of RE/MAX Lakeshore Realty Inc.,” Fluxgold listed.

In the press release, Pulla commented on the importance of NHH to the local community.

“Understanding the key role it plays, I have long made our hospital a charitable priority and am happy to be able to support it in this way.”

The annual event features pairing stations tastefully created to feature new and delicious local cuisines with a variety of wines and ales from Northumberland-area vendors. This year’s planning committee presented guests with returning favourites, along with new flavours and vendors to enjoy.

One of the evening’s highlights was the $2,500 presentation from the Lions Club of Cobourg – on top of providing both the event space and volunteers for the evening.

The at-home version of the Wine & Ale event, instigated in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, also returned this year, providing community members with the opportunity to purchase a mixed case of wine from Henry of Pelham Family Estates Winery (with a portion of proceeds donated to the Foundation). This portion of the Wine & Ale celebrations was made possible through the efforts and support of FWM Wine, Beer & Spirits Territory Manager Terry Knuth.

Through both in-the-park and at-home Wine & Ale versions, the total proceeds of more than $25,000 will help fund priority medical equipment and technology at NHH.
