Update – Northumberland OPP – Suspect Vehicle Located, No Concerns for Public Safety

Members of the Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and the Cobourg Police Service (CPS) have located the suspect vehicle in relation to a shooting investigation, where one person has died in the downtown area of the Town of Cobourg. This incident is believed to be isolated and there is no concern for public safety.

On Monday, June 27, 2022, at 10:06 a.m., the CPS responded to a report of gunshots in the downtown area. Rohan PYNE, age 37, from Scarborough, was transported to local hospital with life-threatening injuries, where he was pronounced deceased.

Two suspects were reported to have left the scene in a black Lexus Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV), which had been reported as stolen. The vehicle was located abandoned in Markham later that day.

Investigators are asking for the public’s assistance. Anyone with dash cam video, who may have been in the King Street East and Division Street area in the Town of Cobourg on June 27, 2022, between the hours of 9:15 a.m. and 10:15 a.m., is asked to contact police.
