Kodiaks to Host Major Series Lacrosse Season Opener Tonight

In Sports

The Cobourg Kodiaks have announced the opening game of their Major Series Lacrosse season will now be played Sunday night.

Game time against the Peterborough Lakers is 6 p.m. at the Cobourg Community Centre. Tickets will be available at the door and are $15 for adults, $10 for students and seniors (65 and over) and $5 for children (12 and under).

The Kodiaks were previously scheduled to have their home opener May 29 against Brooklin, but an ongoing legal dispute between the Ontario Lacrosse Association and MSL involving the relocation of the Brampton franchise to Owen Sound forced a postponement to the start of the season.

Based on the schedule, it appears the 2022 MSL season will move ahead now with just five teams instead of six while the Owen Sound-Brampton situation gets worked out.

More info to come when available.
