Play Ball! Grafton Fastball League Opens New Season

In Baseball

You’ll be able to catch men’s fastball every Wednesday night throughout the summer at the diamonds in Grafton.
The opening game of the new Grafton Fastball League was played this week, with the Beer Hunters and Merchants battling to a 7-7 tie.
Organized by Frank Groves and Doug McNairn, the league was previously based in Colborne, but has relocated to Grafton. COVID restrictions sidelined the league for a couple of seasons and, in addition, longtime organizer Alex Rutherford passed away in December of 2020.
There are just three teams this year – the other is the Cruzers – but Groves said the league hopes to add more players and teams next season.
