Cobourg Police – Toronto Man Charged with Fraud (No Name Released)

A Toronto man has been charged with intent to commit identity fraud after trying to withdraw money using false identification.

On Tuesday, June 7, 2022, at 12:28 p.m., police received a report of an individual attempting to withdraw a large sum of money from a bank downtown Cobourg with identification that appeared to be fake. Police attended and confirmed the documents were fake.

The 20 -year-old Toronto man was arrested and charged with the following:

1. Personation with intent identity fraud contrary to Section 403(1) of the Criminal Code of Canada

2. Two counts of Use forged document contrary to Section 368(1) of the Criminal Code of Canada

The man was released on an Undertaking with conditions and a court date scheduled for July 13, 2022.
