We extend our sincere thanks to municipal partners, and the many emergency services and hydro workers for their incredible, ongoing efforts to clean up debris from this weekend’s storm, and restore power in local communities.
We also appreciate the efforts of the many KPR staff who continue to be focused on ensuring safe school operations for all students and staff.
Due to continued power outages, power restoration work, and/or ongoing school facility clean-up, the following schools will remain closed on Wednesday, May 25. Child care will also be closed at these locations.

Virtual schools are also OPEN tomorrow.
Please note that the schools noted above will be closed tomorrow, even if power is restored at those sites later this evening or overnight. Child care will also be closed at these locations.
Work is continuing to ensure the schools listed above can safely reopen, as soon as possible.
As a result of ongoing connectivity and power challenges, closed schools will not move to online learning for the day.
Important Reminders
While many school sites have been deemed safe for re-opening, families should be aware that there remain trees and debris on school yards and in some drive-ways. This may impact school drop-off and pick-up processes.
For those traveling to and from school, we remind everyone to be safe and to exercise caution on sidewalks and roads. With many fallen trees, broken branches, and debris, it is important to be mindful of these obstacles or hazards while traveling.
As many families remain without power and navigate various challenges related to this weekend’s storm, we understand that some students and families may be unable or choose not to attend schools that remain open. As always, we encourage parents and guardians to make this decision based on your personal circumstances.
Our thoughts continue to be with all those who have been impacted by the storm and have experienced injury, loss, damage to property, and/or continue to be without power.
