Northumberland OPP – Death Investigation in Port Hope

The Northumberland Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and the Port Hope Police Service are conducting a joint investigation into the death of a Port Hope resident.

On May 19, 2022, at 3:20 p.m., human remains were discovered south of Jocelyn Street in the Town of Port Hope. The identity of the deceased person has been confirmed as Madison CHARD, age 29, who had been reported as missing on April 21, 2022.

A Post Mortem will be conducted May 21 2022 at the Center of Forensic Sciences in Toronto.

The Northumberland OPP Crime Unit and Central Region Forensic Identification Services (FIS) Unit are continuing the investigation, under the direction of the OPP’s Criminal Investigation Branch and in conjunction with the Port Hope Police Service and the Office of the Chief Coroner for Ontario.
