Northumberland OPP – CDSA Warrant Results in Firearm and Drug Seizure

As a result of a CDSA warrant, members of the Peterborough / Northumberland Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) seized a loaded handgun, ammunition, 29 grams of fentanyl, and 19 grams of cocaine.

On Wednesday May 4, 2022, at approximately 7:30 p.m., the Peterborough / Northumberland CSCU, with the assistance of the east region OPP Tactics and Rescue Unit and the Belleville Police Service, executed a CDSA warrant at an address in the city of Belleville, in relation to a drug and firearm investigation stemming from Northumberland County.

A person from Scarborough who cannot be named under the Youth Criminal Justice Act (YJCA) has been charged with the following offences:

  • Possession of proceeds
  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking fentanyl
  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking crack cocaine
  • Possession of a loaded prohibited firearm
  • Unauthorized possession of a prohibited firearm
  • Possession of a firearm contrary to prohibition order
  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose x2
  • Breach of a firearms regulation (storage)
  • Carrying a concealed weapon
  • Fail to comply with sentence order
  • Possession of a prohibited device x2

 

The accused party was arrested and held for bail court, and has been remanded into custody.
