Cobourg Police – Newcastle Woman Charged With Impaired Driving (No Name Released)

Woman charged with impaired driving after police responded to a downtown intersection.

On Friday, April 8, 2022, at 6:00 p.m., police were called to Green Street and King Street intersection in response to a report of suspected impaired driving. The caller described a vehicle in the intersection with damage to the front end.

Police arrived on the scene and spoke with a driver of a vehicle matching the description provided. As a result of the police investigation, a 34-year-old Newcastle woman was arrested and charged with the following offence:

1. Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus), contrary to section CC 320.14(1)(b) of the Criminal Code

The woman was released on an undertaking with a court date on April 27, 2022.
