Flatbed Trailer Catches Fire on Highway 401 East of Cobourg

Emergency services were called to a flatbed trailer fire on Highway 401 east of Cobourg on Wednesday, February 16, 2022.

At approximately 11:30 p.m. Cobourg Fire Department and Hamilton Township Fire Department were dispatched to the eastbound lanes of Highway 401 for a flatbed trailer on fire.

Several callers to 9-1-1 indicated the wheels of the flatbed trailer were on fire and the driver was separating the cab from the trailer.

When fire crews arrived the driver’s side wheels of  the trailer were fully involved.

Fire crews angled their fire apparatus to protect them from vehicles approaching as they extinguished the flames.

No one was injured in the fire.
