Philip Lawrence, Member of Parliament for Northumberland-Peterborough South, has been named the Shadow Minister for Federal Economic Development Agency for Eastern, Central and Southern Ontario.

“I am looking forward to taking on this new role, which comes at a time when Ontarian’s are looking to the federal government to aid in their economic recovery following the COVID pandemic. Faced with a crisis of jobs and affordability, I look forward to consulting with Ontarians and stakeholders on these important issues and working with all parties and all levels of government to ensure that Ontarian’s best interests are represented.

“I will be a tireless advocate to bring solid manufacturing jobs back to communities like Cobourg, and to ensure reliable rural internet access in communities like Norwood. I have long said that it is time to bring prosperity back to Ontario in the form of economic growth, and I am excited to get to work.”
