Kallaway Mercer, with his second goal of the game, scored his second straight game-winner for the Cobourg Cougars in Lindsay on Friday night.

Mercer’s goal 48 seconds into the double-overtime gave the Cougars a 3-2 win over the host Muskies at the Lindsay Recreation Centre.

Cobourg jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first period on goals by George Krotiris and Mercer before the Muskies rallied to even the score by the end of the second period.

Krotiris also assisted on Mercer’s OT winner while defenceman Adam Barone drew a pair of assists in the Cobourg victory.

Mercer now has four goals and six points in four games for the Cougars.

His third-period goal this Monday night also stood up as the winner in the 6-5 win over the Haliburton Huskies.

Friday night, goaltender Carter Tahk made 41 saves in recording his third win of the season for the Cougars.

Cobourg (4-3-0-0) heads to Caledon on Saturday for an 8 p.m. match-up against the winless Admirals (0-8-0-0)
