Quinte West OPP – Nine Arrested After Drug Warrant Executed in Quinte West

The Quinte West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged seven people following a controlled drugs and substances act investigation.

On October 18, 2021 at approximately 8:00 a.m., the OPP Community Street Crime Units (CSCU) of Quinte West and Central Hastings, assiste d by the OPP Emergency Response Team (ERT) and OPP Canine Unit executed a search warrant at a residence on Bay Street in Trenton. Additionally, two separate vehicle stops were conducted in relation to the investigation and in total, nine (9) people were arrested, two of which were released unconditionally. A quantity of suspected cocaine and Percocet’s as well as two weapons were seized.

Jessie DRAKER, 40 years old of Quinte West and Ronald MCCLOSKEY, 39 years old of Loyalist Township have been charged with the following offences:

  • Possess schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine;
  • Possess proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5000
  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose – two counts

Additionally, DRAKER was charged with two counts of failure to comply with a release order. Both accused were held in custody and are scheduled to appear for bail on October 19, 2021

Tyl er DAINES, 31 years old of Quinte West, Shannon HARTMAN, 37 years old of Tyendinaga First Nation and Kendra SHERBERT, 26 years old of Frontenac have been charged with the following:

  • Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine; and
  • Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5000

Additionally, DAINES has been charged with Possession of a schedule I substance – Percocet’s and four (4) counts of failing to comply with a probation order and SHERBERT has been charged with Possession of a schedule I substance – cocaine.

HARTMAN and SHERBERT were released on an undertaking and are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville on November 15, 2021. DAINES was held in custody and is scheduled to appear for bail at the Ontario court of Justice in Belleville on October 19, 2021.

Kenneth PHILLIPS, 42 years old of Quinte West has been charged with failure to com ply with an undertaking and Steven COURNEYEA, 45 years old of Ottawa has been charged with five (5) counts of failing to comply with a release order. Both accused were held for bail and are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on October 19, 2021.
