Queenies Bake Shop held their 10th annual Thanksgiving Dinner Giveaway on Sunday, October 10, 2021 in downtown Port Hope.

People were lined down Walton Street for the free turkey lunch/dinner giveaway that started at noon.

Owner Adam Pearson said its his way of giving back to the community he loves and those that support him throughout the year.

As much as the people appreciate the free turkey dinner, Pearson and his staff including Chef John, Chantelle Sturgess and Esmee Carravin enjoy the day just as much.

“It’s one of the favorite days for my staff. A lot of the time they volunteer their time. But I still make sure I pay them.”

Singer Ed Smith dazzled the crowd which were dancing on the sidewalk at times.

For those that have cats or dogs, Queenies was giving free food away for the pets as well.

A donation jar was placed in front for anyone who wanted to donate to the Northumberland Humane Society.
