“Awesome” Birthday Surprise For Loyal Customer and Friend

In Community, Editor Choice, Local

You couldn’t take the smile off Ian Rogerson’s face if you tried.

Rogerson is a regular at The Ale House and Oasis Bar and Grill where he stops by for his afternoon pint in Cobourg.

Living nearby at Palisade Gardens Retirement Community Rogerson walks to his favourite watering holes.

But since he’s getting more “mature,” the owners, staff and customers chipped in to buy him a brand new tricycle for his 82nd birthday.

Rogerson was sitting with others on the patio outside The Ale House when his birthday present arrived.

His smile was infectious with his friends around him and those on the patio.

Rogerson said he hasn’t rode a bike in about 15 years but is looking forward to his new mode of transportation.
