A woman was taken to hospital with what are believed to be minor injuries following a single vehicle collision in Cobourg on Monday, August 9, 2021

.At approximately 11:57 a.m. a vehicle travelling eastbound on Elgin Street struck a pole on the north side of the roadway causing several traffic lights to come down at the intersection of Elgin Street and Rogers Road.

Emergency services quickly responded, but waited for hydro crews to confirm it was safe to approach the vehicle as there were wires over the vehicle.

The woman was taken helped to a stretcher and taken to hospital.

The airbag did deploy and it appears the woman was wearing her seatbelt.

Westbound traffic was re-routed along with eastbound traffic at the intersection until the investigation is complete and debris removed from the road.
