In Local

Members of the Cobourg Fire Department were at the inner harbour in Cobourg on Monday, July 12, 2021 familiarizing themselves with a new water rescue tool.

A Rapid Deploy Craft was recently purchased by the Cobourg Fire Department which can be used for open water or ice water rescues.

The RDC can be deployed within a minute and is used by a number of fire departments in Northumberland County.

All 32 firefighters will be trained on the use of the water rescue equipment for use in a emergency on Lake Ontario or in any of the retention ponds or creeks in the Town of Cobourg.
