Northumberland OPP – Unconscious Driver Charged with Impaired Driving

HAMILTON TWP, ON) – On Wednesday June 30, 2021 at approximately 1:56 p.m. officers from the Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), responded to a complaint of a vehicle being driven erratically on County Rd 45 in Hamilton Township. Officers were further advised that the vehicle had pulled over to the shoulder and the driver was unconscious at the wheel

Officers attended the location and located the vehicle and driver. After an investigation, police suspected the driver was impaired by alcohol.

 Martin BUGDEN (age 67) of Scarborough was arrested and charged with the following offences:  

Operation while impaired by alcohol

Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus).

The accused was released and is scheduled to attend the Ontario Court of Justice on September 15, 2021
