Northumberland OPP – Fort Frances Woman Charged with Impaired Driving

On Wednesday June 30, 2021 at approximately 12:29 p.m. officers from the Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), responded to a complaint of a vehicle travelling at half the posted speed limit on highway 401 east bound in the municipality of Port Hope.

Officers received a second complaint reporting the same vehicle was located at the Canadian Tire gas bar at the ONroute, and the driver was unconscious at the wheel.

Police located the vehicle and the driver was arrested for driving while impaired by drugs.

Sarah SCHAUM (age 27) of Fort Frances was charged with the following offences: 

Operation while impaired by drugs

Drive vehicle or boat with cannabis readily available

The accused was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on August 4, 2021.
