With Barbershops Open “Everybody’s In A Great Mood”

In Editor Choice, Local

Barbershops are now open thanks to the province moving into phase two of reopening.

At The Grubby Barbershop in downtown Cobourg, owner Jonathan Allen said, “I’m pretty happy to be back.”

“It’s one of those things you’re off for awhile so there is a bit of stress coming back with the new rules.”

Customers were lined up outside his business for most of the day, but Allen said they didn’t mind.

“Everybody’s in a great mood, the sun is shining. We’re quite happy with that.”

What was supposed to be a month shut down, turned into over two months, but Allen said that he had family time.

“COVID was terrible, but having to spend time with the family that was fantastic.”

Just up the road at Peter’s Barbershop the same was happening with a line-up on the sidewalk no one seemed to mind the wait as things slowly progress to what it was like before the pandemic.
