Cobourg Police – Man Arrested for Theft

On the afternoon of Monday, June 28, 2021, police received a call to attend an address on Campbell Street in
the Town of Cobourg for a report of theft of tools.

After taking the report from the complainant, police were alerted that an attempt had been made by a man to
pawn off some of the stolen tools to a business downtown Cobourg. Subsequent investigation revealed a
potential suspect.

As a result of the police investigation Eric Bremner, a 45-year-old Cobourg man, was arrested and charged
with the following offences:

Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000 contrary to section 355(b) of the Criminal
Code of Canada

Fail to comply with probation contrary to section 733.1(1) of the Criminal Code of Canada X3
Bremner was released on an undertaking with a future court date.
