Peterborough County OPP – Traffic Stop Leads to Drug Charges

Members of the Peterborough County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a traffic complaint on Chemong Road at approximately 12:00pm on June 19, 2021. The vehicle was located in the parking lot of an amusement park. The driver was found to be under the influence of drugs. A search of the vehicle resulted in the seizure of fentanyl, cocaine, a spring-loaded knife and a collapsible baton.

Chantale EMMOREY-GODDA (age 33) of Peterborough, Ontario was arrested and charged with:

• Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking-cocaine

• Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking-other drugs

• Operation while impaired-alcohol and drugs

• Possession of a prohibited device or ammunition

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Peterborough on July 27, 2021.

Ryan SUTTON (age 34) of Otonabee-South Monaghan Township, Ontario was arrested and charged with:

• Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking-cocaine

• Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking-other drugs

• Obstruct peace officer

• Possession of a prohibited device or ammunition

• Failure to comply with undertaking

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Peterborough on July 22, 2021.
