In Editor Choice, Local, Police Blotter

Three people were transported to hospital after a head-on collision in Port Hope on Tuesday, May 25, 2021.

At approximately 4:38 p.m. emergency services were dispatched to Jocelyn Street and Victoria Street North.

It appears a white Toyota Corolla was traveling westbound on Jocelyn Street and a black Nissan Maxima was travelling eastbound when the two vehicles collided.

Emergency services were notified that there were possibly two people trapped, but when they arrived on scene, all occupants were out of their vehicles.

Two men from the Nissan and a woman from the Toyota were transported to Northumberland Hills Hospital. A Ornge air ambulance was called, but the injuries weren’t deemed that serious and no patient was taken police say.

OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigators were called to the scene and the intersection will likely be shut down until close to midnight.

No word on charges.
