Northumberland OPP – Charges Resulting from Collision in Port Hope

(MUNICIPALITY OF PORT HOPE, ON) – On December 2, 2020, members of the Northumberland County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) along with Northumberland EMS and Hope Township Fire Department, responded to a serious collision that occurred at approximately 8:05 am on the 7th Line just west of Woodvale School Road. The collision resulted in the death of one pedestrian and another pedestrian sustained major injuries.

As a result of investigation, a 17 year old from Port Hope was charged with the following offences:  

Careless driving causing bodily harm Sec 130(3) of the Highway Traffic Act

Careless driving causing death Sec 130(3) of the Highway Traffic Act

The accused is scheduled to attend the Provincial Offences Court in Cobourg on June 11th 2021.
