Two people were rushed to hospital after a car collided with a tree north of Port Hope.

At approximately 12:50 a.m. emergency crews were dispatched to the area of the 5th Line west of Barrie Road for a single vehicle collision.

It appears a vehicle with two occupants was travelling eastbound on the 5th Line when it went over a small hill, went off the road and struck a tree.

It’s believed the two occupants were ejected from the vehicle.

OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigators examined the scene on Sunday.

It’s unknown the condition of either of the occupants.

The 5th Line between Grist Mill Road and Barrie Road will be closed for most of Sunday.

Will provide updates when they become available.
