Northumberland OPP – Driver Charged with Impaired After Collision

(MUNICIPALITY OF BRIGHTON, ON) – On Thursday March 18, 2021, members from the Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a single vehicle collision at approximately 12:45 a.m. on County Road 27 east of O’grady Road.


A black Hyundai four door sedan was travelling westbound on County Road 27 when it left the road way, entered the north side ditch and rolled causing significant damage to the vehicle.


The driver who was the only occupant of the vehicle, was transported to a nearby hospital to be treated for minor injuries that were sustained from the collision.


As a result of the investigation Owen Brown (age 18) of Kingston, Ontario, was arrested and charged with:
Operation while Impaired – alcohol
Operation while impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (B.A.C) (80 plus)
Novice driver – B.A.C above zero


The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg on a date in April, 2021.
