Community Care Northumberland to Provide Free Transportation to COVID-19 Vaccine Clinics

In Community, Local

As the COVID-19 vaccine rollout continues and with the opening of COVID-19 vaccine clinics in Northumberland County, Community Care Northumberland (CCN) will ensure members of our community can attend their vaccine
appointment by offering transportation at no cost to those receiving the service.

This service is available to any person living in Northumberland County who requires
transportation to attend their COVID-19 vaccine appointment. CCN’s specialized transportation
vehicles and screened volunteer drivers, including those from YMCA Northumberland’s
Operation Red Nose, will provide free, accessible transportation from the individual’s residence
to the vaccine clinic and back home.

“The inability to access affordable, reliable transportation should not be a barrier for those who
are willing and eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccine,” says Trish Baird, Chief Executive Officer
of Community Care Northumberland. “Community Care Northumberland is happy to continue
supporting the efforts of public health and the needs of our community, and we thank our
specialized drivers and volunteer drivers for helping provide this essential service.”
