In Editor Choice, Local

Breaking News – Today’s Northumberland has learned that Hope Street Terrace staff and residents will be getting the COVID vaccine this coming Wednesday.

“We just got confirmation from public health that they are going to vaccinate the non-infected folks at HST on Wednesday,” said a jubilant Dr. Michelle Albert who is the medical director at the Long Term Care facility in Port Hope.

Since January 1, sixteen residents have contracted COVID-19, two have died and a number of staff have also contracted COVID-19.

Albert has been pleading with the Provincial Government to get the vaccine into the facility.

“Very exciting news – I plan to go in on Wednesday to offer “medical” supervision, and get lots of relief and happiness seeing it happen.”
