Cobourg LCBO Employee Tests Positive for COVID-19

In Local

The LBCO has issued a release stating at least one employee has tested positive for COVID-19 at the Cobourg location on Elgin Street.

Today’s Northumberland first heard about the possible case on Thursday and reached out to the LCBO head office in Toronto on Friday, but did not hear from them.

On Saturday, the LCBO issued a release stating an employee/s at store #609 in Cooburg at 1111 Elgin Street West has tested positive. The last shift worked in-store was on Sunday, December 13, 2020.

Today’s Northumberland has also learned the delay in the results was from waiting confirmation of the test results.

The release also states at least one other employee at another LCBO store in Toronto has tested positive.

It’s unknown if there is more than one person at east store as the release only states “employees.”

The store in Toronto has “undergone a deep cleaning and is open for regular business hours today.”

As of Saturday, December 19, 2020 the Cobourg location has not been closed and it’s unknown if there has undergone a deep cleaning.

There has been no communication from the Haliburton Kawartha Pine Ridge District Health Unit regarding the confirmed case in Cobourg.
