A dusting of snow made for some treacherous conditions on the evening of Monday, December 14, 2020.
Numerous collisions were reported, mostly minor in nature across the lakeshore mainly north of Highway 401 in Northumberland County.
One of the more serious collisions was just north of Camborne on County Road 18/Burnham Street in Hamilton Township.
A pickup truck had flipped onto its roof in the ditch, trapping a man and a woman shortly after 6 p.m.
Another concern was the water from the ditch entering the cab of the pickup.
Members of the Hamilton Township Fire Department were first to arrive on scene, followed by Northumberland County Paramedics.
Firefighters broke the rear windows to communicate with both occupants of the vehicle.
Shovels had to be used at first to clear away an area.  The firefighters then used extrication equipment to pry open the door and allow both occupants out of the vehicle.
Both occupants walked to an ambulance to be treated for what appeared to be minor injuries.
