The Haliburton Kawartha Pine Ridge District Health Unit refused to state whether the reason for the closure was a result of COVID-19, but the “Tim Hortons Media Team” confirmed the reason on Tuesday at 4:41 p.m.

The statement gave the indication there are more than one staff in isolation and the restaurant will be closed until Sunday, December 13.

Today’s Northumberland sent a second e-mail to Tim Hortons asking if they believed there was any risk to their customers.  We will update as soon as they reply.

The statement from Tim Hortons reads as follows:
The Tim Hortons restaurant located at 289 Big Apple Dr., Colborne, ON temporarily closed on November 30th due to COVID-19. Impacted team members are self-isolating for 14 days and will be supported through Tim Hortons corporate and restaurant owner COVID-19 compensation fund to provide for any lost wages. We wish them well and look forward to seeing all team members once their self-isolation is complete.
Following public health guidelines, the restaurant has been closed for cleaning and sanitization and is expected to re-open Sunday, December 13.
