The lights are on in Victoria Park and Rotary Waterfront Park signalling the start of the Christmas season.

What started out to be a “test-run” on Friday, November 27, 2020 turned out so well that town staff in Cobourg decided to let the magic begin on Friday night.

People strolling through Victoria Park were thrilled when magically the lights were turned on shortly before 7 p.m.

It was a joyous sound to hear the laughter of children running around Victoria Park screaming with joy, playing hide-and-seek amongst the lights.

Even Santa dropped by for a unannounced visit for a few minutes before heading back to the “Pole” to make sure things are running smoothly.

The lights will be on until approximately 10 p.m. during the Christmas season so everyone can come out and enjoy.
