Flags Lowered at Cobourg Firehall in Honour of Former Firefighter

The flags at the Cobourg Firehall on Elgin Street in Cobourg were lowered in honour of a former firefighter who passed away on Thursday, November 12, 2020.

Veteran firefighter Don Medhurst passed away from cancer at 80-years-old Thursday morning.

Medhurst joined the Cobourg Fire Department as a part-time firefighter on July 1, 1969 and became a full-time firefighter on April 5, 1971.

He retired as a Platoon Chief in 1999.

Funeral arrangements are still being determined.
