Test Drive Comes to Sudden Stop As 2020 Honda CRV Rolls Into Ditch in Cobourg

In Local, Police Blotter

A test drive for a brand new SUV didn’t go as planned as the vehicle rolled on its roof in the ditch in Cobourg on Thursday, November 5, 2020.

At approximately 3 p.m. emergency services were dispatched to the area of Elgin Street East and Workman Road for a single vehicle rollover.

The driver was taking the 2020 Honda CRV for a test drive. As the driver was heading north on Workman Road and turned west onto Elgin Street the vehicle went to wide on the turn and rolled upside down in the ditch.

The elderly driver and another person managed to free themselves and were unhurt, but the vehicle was a total loss.

Ironically the driver said he was going to buy the vehicle, he just wanted to take it for a short drive.

A 86-year-old man is charged with careless driving.
