Durham Police – Fifteen-Year-Old Arrested for Assaulting Three Strangers Along Ajax Waterfront

A 15-year-old Ajax male is facing charges after he assaulted three strangers along the Ajax lakefront.

On Sunday, October 11, 2020, at approximately 4:20 p.m., West Division officers responded to a call about a male assaulting people in the area of Lakeview Boulevard and Poplar Avenue in Ajax. The male had approached a couple walking in the area and put his arms around their shoulders. When the couple asked him to back away, he punched the male multiple times. The suspect also assaulted a male who was laying on the beach by punching him, causing the male to fall in the lake. A third victim was punched while attempting to call 9-1-1 to report the assaults.

Police arrived and located the male. He was placed under arrest and taken to hospital for a mental health assessment.

A 15-year-old male from Ajax is charged with Assault x2 and Assault Cause Bodily Harm.
