City of Kawartha Lakes OPP – Investigating Death of Child

On Thursday, October 8, 2020, shortly before 9 am, emergency services personnel from the City of Kawartha Lakes Ambulance and Paramedic Services, Fire Rescue Service and Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a Fenelon Falls address.

A 9-year-old child was transported to a local area hospital by ambulance. The child was later pronounced deceased. The cause of death and circumstances surrounding the incident remain under investigation by the City of Kawartha Lakes OPP with the assistance of the Office of the Chief Coroner, and Ontario Forensic Pathology Service under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch.
