Stevenson Cartage Moving Truck Goes Up In Flames in Cobourg

Cobourg Fire Department responded to a vehicle fire on October 1, 2020.

At approximately 1:22 p.m. Cobourg Fire Department was dispatched to an Ontario Street address, just south of Huycke Street for a vehicle fire.

A person was cutting grass in the area and noticed smoke coming from the cab portion of a commercial motor vehicle and called 9-1-1.

When fire crews arrived they discovered the front end of a moving truck was engulfed in flames.

Firefighters were concerned about the fire spreading to an adjacent vehicle, but managed to extinguish the flames.

It’s unknown what caused the fire.
