Cobourg Police – Two Suspects Arrested For Fraud

On May 9th, 2020, a victim reported a theft from her vehicle and subsequently forged cheques in the name of the victim were being deposited.  Police began an investigation and were able to identify parties responsible. As a result:

 

Michael kitchen (30 yrs old) was arrested on August 5th, 2020 and charged with the following offences:

Charge(s):

1. Possession of stolen property contrary to sec. 354(1)(b) Criminal Code of Canada
2. Possession of stolen property contrary to sec. 354(1)(b) Criminal Code of Canada
3. Possession of stolen property contrary to sec. 354(1)(b) Criminal Code of Canada
4. Possession of stolen property contrary to sec. 354(1)(b) Criminal Code of Canada
5. Fraud under $5000.00 contrary to sec. 380(1) Criminal Code of Canada
6. Fraud under $5000.00 contrary to sec. 380(1) Criminal Code of Canada
7. Fraud under $5000.00 contrary to sec. 380(1) Criminal Code of Canada
8. Fraud under $5000.00 contrary to sec. 380(1) Criminal Code of Canada
9. Utter forged document contrary to sec 380(1)(a) Criminal Code of Canada
10. Utter forged document contrary to sec 380(1)(a) Criminal Code of Canada
11. Utter forged document contrary to sec 380(1)(a) Criminal Code of Canada
12. Utter forged document contrary to sec 380(1)(a) Criminal Code of Canada
13. Possession of a controlled substance – crack cocaine contrary to section 4(1) of the Controlled Drug and Substance Act

Michael Kitchen was held pending a bail hearing.

 

And further, Sandra Stuber (31 yrs old) was arrested on August 5th, 2020 and charged with the following offences:

1. Possession of stolen property contrary to sec. 354(1)(b) Criminal Code of Canada
2. Utter forged document contrary to sec 380(1)(a) Criminal Code of Canada
3. Possession of a controlled substance – crack cocaine contrary to section 4(1) of the Controlled Drug and Substance Act

Sandra Stuber was subsequently released on a promise to appear and undertaking
